ABOUT ABOUT

EPA and WESTAR are co-hosting a two-day workshop on Exceptional Events implementation.  The objective of the workshop is to provide participants an overview of the Exceptional Events Rule revisions with a focus on the scope and process changes in the Rule.  It will include examples of the application of rule revisions and implementation guidance to select event and pollutant combinations.  The goal is to foster a collegial environment of shared goals and objectives leading to effective implementation of the revised Exceptional Events Rule.

The intended audience for the meeting is federal regulators and western state, local and tribal air and land management agency staff with responsibility for developing, submitting and reviewing exceptional events demonstrations.  The first day of the workshop will be held at EPA Region 8 and the second day will be held at the WESTIN Downtown Denver.  For questions about the workshop, contact Beth Palma at EPA: 919-541-5432 or Bob Lebens at WESTAR: 503-478-4956.
